Civil Services Money

At one point Governor Jindal wanted to give most people in the civil services a ten percent raise. The others would get a three percent raise.

The 800 pound gorilla in the room is the bad economy. Because of this, those raises are up in the air at best.

Sure, the people in the civil services deserve raises but the fact that the state is in dire straits may cause the raises to be help up until the economy gets better.
