Real Savings

The governor is asking most of the departments in the state government to take some serious pay and funding cuts.

Sure, the state government needs to be smaller but he should look at the people in his cabinet and staff.

Over the last year, he has been able to get his staff and cabinet raises. The fact that those raises have come from hurricane relief money does not seem to matter. It is also a point that this money is starting to run out and when it does, then what.

I sure hope that he sees that the general public is in the throws of a recession and make the correct call to cut these peoples salaries. This would send a message that the state wants to save some serious money and cut government.
