Common Sense Education

There are a great amount of problems in our public schools.

In terms of the problems in the system, there are two different ways to correct the problem. The first is to throw money at the problem. This means to pay the teachers, and to given more money to the failing inner city schools. Don’t get me wrong, teachers should be paid lot of money but they need to understand that people want production. The teachers unions need to understand that the fat needs to be trimmed. This means getting rid of the bad teachers that are bringing down the public’s opinion of the job that teachers do.

On the politicians side, the need to get over themselves and find a way to install school choice. I think what some states (Louisiana) have done, on a limited basis is a good thing. Then there are the charter schools, home schools, private, and parochial schools that if the people in the inner city had a choice, they would move their kids out of those schools.

There is no doubt that the education system in this country needs to be fixed.
