President Obama is an American progressive. This means that he is automatically opened to some, if not all, of the more liberal, left-leaning policies and initiatives.
He believes in global warming and would love to do everything in his power to hurt the oil companies.
They, on the left, think by just getting rid of cars, they can seriously curtail global warming.
