Governor Jindal has not had a good first term.
The whole legislative pay raise issue is part and parcel of his problems. He was not going to stand its way, but we, the people, said no. We stood up and drug him by the nose and he vetoed the measure.
He likes to laud his “ethics” reforms. Sure, they look good but they have little or no bite to them. About the only thing that they have done is to clean the corruption off of the so-called ethics board.
On the subject of taxes, we see him not acting like the conservative that he claims to be. The best example is Stelly Bill. He just refuses to change the tables that would allow the businesses to do the work and help give the people their monies back. He is being helped out by Jim “big Government” Tucker, a so-called republican. They said that we would get the cut in January 2009, but the amendment put forward by Mr. Tucker said that the tax tables don’t change until the summer of 2009.
I give this Governor a grade of D-plus.
