Do Or Do Not, There Is No Try

In the movie Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, there is a line that was spoken by Yoda:

“Do or do not, there is not try.”

He said this to Luke Skywalker when he was training him and the training involved learning skills that luke did not have the ability to pull off at the time.

In prosecuting a war, this a phrase that should be first and foremost on the minds of the politicians.

Let’s take the President at his word, when in the campaign he said that he wanted to win in Afghanistan. The problem with this is he has a total democrat/progressive/left-wing congress. What I mean is the majority are all peace-nicks. The generals on the ground have said that more troops are needed but the congressional leadership does not want to pay for more troops.

The President is already taking hits on his domestic policies and now it looks like even though he may want to look strong on national defense, the congress will not allow him to actually act that way.
