Economic Promises

There have been many times in which the politicians in the state of Louisiana have promised economic development. Time and again they have bee made to look like fools.

I am not speaking of things that they have pulled off that the general public knows, for a certainty, are not economic development. A good example of that is lakes and reservoirs. Those things are just meant to put moneys in the particular legislators pockets. The states buying of golf courses that would otherwise go out of business is another boondoggle.

Those are not the particulars that I am talking about. Over the past decade there have been promises of sugar mills, chicken plucking plants, and car parts distributor ships that have not come to pass.

The way that this government works is that it shoots its mouth off, before things are finalized, and they don’t get that specific business.

What needs to happen is that the state needs to learn from the movie business experiment. It gave that business what amounted to a tax cut and now it is thriving an flourishing in the state.

They are galactically economically blind. They just don’t get the fact that tax cuts will stimulate the economy.
